Royce Bair
Nightscapes: Starry Night Photography

Come discover a totally new dimension in your photography - Milky Way NightScapes.  Royce Bair, a semi-retired magazine photographer, has been photographing the night sky for three decades.  Author of Milky Way Nightscapes, Royce’s work has appeared in National Geographic, Smithsonian, Readers Digest and American Photo, just to name a few.

In an exclusive Texas engagement, Royce will be presenting a special NightScapes program to the Dallas Professional Photographers Association.  This is a presentation on how to photograph Milky Way landscapes — starry night skies with an enhanced landscape feature. Many of these unique photos are shot as one exposure, with very little digital manipulation.

Although starry night landscape photography is challenging, Royce's step-by-step recipe will have you capturing great Milky Way "NightScapes" the first time you go out on your own.  Most photographers are amazed at the beauty of the night sky they are now able to capture, and many have discovered their new found creativity to be almost a spiritual experience.  Royce will give a digital slide presentation, loaded with plenty of how-to information, such as: planning when and where to shoot the Milky Way, forecasting, finding dark skies, calculating star alignment, choosing the right lens, exposure calculation, noise reduction techniques, light painting, and exposure blending
