by Barbara MacFerrin
How is it that some images are exquisite harmonies of textures, colors, mood, and expressions beyond most of our imaginations? And how could we learn to be such masters of artistry? Wonder no more!
Join us in October for our monthly guild meeting, and merited workshop the following day with portrait artist Barbara MacFerrin; “Wardrobe, Colors and Textures—An Innovative, Modern Take On the Old Masters”. She’ll show us start to finish how she creates her award-winning images.
Bring your cameras and laptops for the workshop because we will be shooting and editing!
Barbara is an award winning fine art portrait photographer and PPA Master Photographer based in Colorado with over 25 years of photography experience and has earned the title of Accredited Master Level Photographer of The Portrait Masters organization.
Her work is inspired by old master paintings, aiming to capture a soulful intensity in her subjects. In this workshop, Barbara will teach how she uses one and two studio lighting setups to achieve the optimal lighting to create painterly portraits. She will also discuss various editing techniques using Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop, as well as how to best use digital textures to enhance the images.
