Essential Studio Lighting

In this member-to-member class, Karen will demystify studio lighting and give you the basic framework for beginning your journey into studio lighting. 

Karen will cover the different lighting systems available, modifier types, and how to select the gear to get you started. She will explain how you'll adjust camera settings when shooting with strobes, how to get proper exposures, meters and histograms, lighting setups with 1-3 lights, the inverse square law, and lighting patterns.

Karen has been shooting professionally for 12 years, running wedding and portrait businesses based in Northern Nevada and Texas.  She has a broad range of experience in weddings, sports, and portraits, both on location with natural and/or off camera lighting, and in studio.  She currently specializes in newborn, maternity and business portraits from her studio in downtown McKinney, Texas.
