A Full-Day Workshop

Working On-set with Food Glorious Food

with Joe Glyda

Joe will demonstrate his technique of using a single light and fill cards to make his food photos come to life. He’ll also share insights on the benefits of shooting tethered with Capture One software. This demo will help the attendees understand the difference in lighting styles, techniques, and food trends when food is the main subject. Joe claims that he shoots things that don't talk back. This will become apparent as we take a break and return to the set, which is not moving. He will talk about hero food, dummy food, and how to design plates with no food at all. Joe will also describe the specialized tools needed for a typical food session. Finally, people will learn patience, adaptability, and lighting techniques for food and appreciate a new way of viewing food on a plate.
