The Journey by Larry Lourcey
"Change the way you photograph in 2014 - and change your world"
Upon turning 40 in 2009, Larry set out on a project he referred to as 40@Forty. It consisted of a series of self-portraits - one per week for 40 weeks - all published on his blog and Facebook page. The images ranged from humorous to poignant, but always honest.
Larry has had several images selected fro the prestigious PPA Loan Collection, including "School Spirit" which was featured on the cover of Professional Photographer Magazine in April of this year.
While Lourcey is most recognized for his black and white photography, the breadth of his work includes vibrant photo paintings, Old Master portraiture, and photographic collages. He derives his inspiration from master painters like John Singer Sargent and Edgar Degas, while embracing the bold styles of more modern greats, such as Pino Daeni.
Larry is a Past President of Dallas PPA and remains a student of photography.
