Failure isn't just part of growing, it's what happens when you are prolific, taking risks and open to discovery. When we continuously challenge ourselves, we put ourselves in an opportunity both success and failure. It's no secret that we learn more from our mistakes than we do our victories.
Somewhere in our artistic life cycle, there comes the point where we stop experiencing as many failures as much as we undergo fine-tuning and refinement.
One thing I've observed in myself and others is that most photographers don't slow down enough to figure out what is a good idea or concept. Instead of relying on a pretty model, lighting pattern or post-production prowess and wondering why the rest of the world doesn't recognize our genius, why not challenge ourselves to create pictures of lasting value.
It doesn't matter if you create them for yourself, your loved ones or your clients.
What matters is that you have the vision to see, a heart to serve and a spirit that embraces adventure, exploration, and discovery.
Won't you join me as we look at our journey growth as photographers, as artists, and as people?
