October Meeting

Omar Ramos has been photographing portraits, fashion, and commercial photography for over 40 years and understands frustration. He has tried plugins and apps to hopefully create acceptable retouched photos for his clients.
Over the years of trial and error, he has learned what retouching style works for him.
Come along as he tells his journey as a photographer and how he finally found his retouching workflow.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I have always been interested in creativity. My family loved music and art ever since I could remember. My brother-in-law introduced me to photography in 1981, who let me use his Pentax K1000. Ever since then, I have been hooked and bought myself a Minolta x-700. In 1982, I took it seriously and began assisting New York City fashion photographers Terry Weir and Phyllis Cuington. There I began my career in commercial portrait photography.
My photography has been seen in national publications and trade circulations nationwide and has been published through marketing and music productions.
I enjoy having a variety of clients from commercial, portrait and editorial projects. I will work closely with you to find out exactly how you want to be portrayed and to produce the best possible results. Plus, you'll have a good time doing it! I am a photographer with a love for storytelling.
My clients include top talent and model agencies, small to Fortune 500 corporations, and private individuals.
I look forward to meeting them and capturing photos that last a lifetime.

Pre-Meeting Event: Headshot Marathon
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Is your headshot from before the pandemic or a cell phone photo of you on vacation??? Now is the time to update! Fix your hair, freshen up your make-up, and wear something you look great in. Our pre-meeting event is a Headshot Marathon. Some of our members have graciously agreed to photograph their DPPA family for free! First come first serve!!
Separate registration is NOT required for this pre-meeting event. Anyone registered for the monthly meeting can come in early and take advantage of this learning opportunity.
